What is Interactive Media?

The majority of the morning was spent understanding the different type of interactive media and where it can be found. These included Internet, Mobile phones, information kiosks and ATM machines. Interactive Media can be found literally anywhere! Safety demonstrations, Powerpoint presentations, Rail station ticket machines and DVD menus are all examples of Interactive Media that are used daily by millions worldwide.

After showing the various types of interactive media, we discussed different types of compression and format of interactive media. Compression types include: .AVI,Quicktime/.MOV and MPEG.
Formats, or more commonly known as Aspect Ratio, is the size of the media, this is not the memory size but, the "dimensions". The two most common formats are 4:3 which is standard screen size, and 16:4 which is widescreen size.

The last and final part was a small exercise. We had to enumerate what would be required in Pre-production, Production and Post-production of a 45 second television commercial for pet food.
Pre-production would include: Script, Storyboard and the Casting of animal and any actors that will be needed.
Production would include: Camera/lights/sound, Wrangler and Props.
Post-Production would include: Foley, Music and Titles and Logos.
